The house in Mallorca, in which Jan Ullrich had lived with his family a few months earlier in 2018, had become a cocaine hell, according to his newly published autobiography: “People I had never seen before came in around the clock. Actors, artists, criminals, rockers, people from the milieu. Everyone was welcome here,” writes Ullrich in the autobiography entitled “Heaven, Hell – and Back to Life”.

With the help of ghostwriter “Dennis Sand”, it is also described how Jan Ullrich once withdrew a whole sports bag of money from the bank while high on cocaine in order to finance excesses and a party life: “I hadn’t slept for two days and had taken a lot of cocaine and whiskey… I told him an absurdly high sum and slammed a sports bag on the counter. He looked at me in shock… When I got home, I went into my bedroom and simply poured the money onto the floor,” is the relevant passage in the book in a nutshell.

Apparently, the autobiography also helps Ullrich to finally come to terms with the past. On “Sat.1 Breakfast Television” this week, the 50-year-old said: “I’ve dealt with it now. […] It helped me a lot to let it all out.”

He does not want to fall back into bad behavioral patterns and after giving up alcohol and cocaine he feels much better today.

Jan Ullrich is also said to have gotten closer to Til Schweiger again. The former cyclist is now even worried about the actor.

He said on Sat 1: “Til just had his problems and that really affected him. Nobody likes to be sick, he’s also a certain age, so of course I’m worried.” Ullrich even says that Til Schweiger has a friend in him: “I’m there for him.”

Til Schweiger suffered from severe sepsis this spring and narrowly escaped having his leg amputated in Mallorca. According to media reports, he is currently being treated in Germany for an open leg and will have to undergo a bypass operation as soon as his condition allows. Until he recovers, Schweiger has temporarily withdrawn from public life, it is said.

Meanwhile, things seem to be looking up for Jan Ullrich. In addition to two TV documentaries (“Jan Ullrich – the hunted” and “Being Jan Ullrich”) and the new book “Heaven, Hell – and back to life” (Next Level Verlag), there has also been a “Jan Ullrich Cycling Museum” in Bad Dürrheim (Schwarzwald-Baar district) since May 2024.

Last but not least, Ullrich recently made a high-profile doping confession in order to put an end to the past. According to “Focus”, his fortune is still said to be eight million euros.

Jan Ullrich has four children: together with ex-wife Sara Steinhauser, he has three sons, Max (16), Benno (13) and Toni (11). The youngest is daughter Sara Maria with his former partner Gaby Weis. The 50-year-old is now in a relationship with Cuban Elizabeth Napoles.

She had witnessed Ullrich’s crash in Mallorca in full in 2018. The couple now lives in Merdingen am Kaiserstuhl, where winemaker’s daughter Gaby Weis also lives. However, the establishment of a Jan Ullrich museum there failed for various reasons.

Four people were injured in an explosion in Solingen, including a seven-year-old girl. The suspected perpetrator died. The authorities raised the alarm.

A farmer found the body of a child in a meadow in the Lower Saxony district of Stade, where the missing boy Arian was being searched for.
