(Toronto) The Canadian Hockey League believes it has identified the right recipe and the right partner to showcase its greatest hopes.

Sprinkle in the legendary Canada-US rivalry, mix in NHL scouts, exciting NHL draft prospects and add in the US National Team Development Program, and you get a competition which will bring together the cream of the crop, with a duel of international scope.

This recipe will be called the CHL/USA Hockey Prospects Challenge, and it will be added to the hockey calendar over the next three years.

The CHL and the U.S. National Team Development Program revealed their plan on Wednesday, with its first edition taking place in November 2024. Details about the dates, venue, and format of the competition will be revealed at a later date. later.

The Prospects Challenge will pit prospects who will be eligible for the NHL draft for the first time from the three main junior circuits in the country –– the Maritimes Quebec Junior Hockey League, the Ontario Junior Hockey League (OHL) and the Western Junior Hockey League (WHL) — to those of USA Hockey, in a series of two meetings.
