Hillary Clinton’s next book is a collection of essays, covering topics from marriage to politics to faith, that her editor calls her most personal yet.
Simon and Schuster announced Tuesday that Something Lost, Something Gained: Reflections on Life, Love and Liberty by Ms. Clinton will be released on September 17.
Topics she will discuss include her marriage to former President Bill Clinton, her Methodist faith, her adjustment to private life after her failed presidential election, her friendships with other first ladies, and her views on climate change, democracy and Vladimir Putin.
“The book reads like you’re sitting down with your smartest, funniest, most passionate friend over a long meal,” Ms. Clinton’s publisher, Priscilla Painton, said in a statement.
“This is the Hillary Americans know and love: outspoken, engaged, humorous, self-deprecating – and always learning.”
Hillary Clinton, former first lady, U.S. senator and secretary, and presidential candidate, will promote her book on a cross-country tour. Something Lost, Something Gained was released two months before Bill Clinton’s memoir of his post-presidential life, Citizen.
Financial terms were not disclosed. Ms. Clinton was represented by Robert Barnett, a Washington lawyer whose clients included former President George W. Bush and former President Barack Obama.
Ms. Clinton’s previous books include bestsellers such as My Story and That’s the Way It Happened.
