On a hot day in India, a woman orders ice cream for herself and her brother to cool off. He finds a human finger in the ice cream cone.
A woman had three packaged ice cream cones delivered to her brother’s house on a particularly hot day in Mumbai. Her brother, a doctor, was enjoying the ice cream until he suddenly felt something hard on his tongue, the Daily Mail reports.
He immediately spat out the object. According to the report, it turned out to be an apparently severed human finger that was stuck in the butterscotch-flavored ice cream.
“After eating half of the ice cream, I felt a solid piece in my mouth,” the shocked man said, according to the Daily Mail. “I thought it might be a nut or a piece of chocolate, but I spit it out anyway to see what it was.”
As a doctor, he immediately recognized that it was a human body part. After a closer examination, he determined that it must be a thumb: “When I examined it closely, I noticed the fingernails and the fingerprints on it.”
The man wrapped the finger in ice cream and took it to the police. Proceedings were initiated against the ice cream brand for “food adulteration and endangering human life”. (Warning: the following Twitter video is not for the faint of stomach!)
According to “indiatvnews,” the police sent the piece of meat for forensic examination to confirm that it was indeed a human body part. How the finger got into the ice is still unclear. The picture of the finger in the ice went viral on the Internet.
