The creator behind House of the Dragon has hinted at a potential season 3 as he reveals ongoing work on the popular fantasy series. Despite the upcoming return of the Game of Thrones prequel to Sky Atlantic and NOW, the mastermind reveals that the series is always in motion.

The official synopsis of the show suggests that tensions within Westeros will escalate further, with a bloody civil war on the horizon between the Green and Black Councils vying for the throne. The new season promises more dragon warfare, with characters like Alicent Hightower and Rhaenyra Targaryen at the center of the conflict.

While an official confirmation for season 3 is yet to be announced, showrunner Ryan Condal mentioned at the UK premiere that they are already working on it. He expressed excitement for the future of the series and assured that they are prepared whenever HBO gives the green light.

In addition to familiar faces returning for the new season, there are also new cast members joining the ensemble. The show aims to explore interactions between characters from different social backgrounds, adding depth to the storytelling.

Matt Smith, who plays Prince Daemon in the series, teased about the character’s morally complex actions in the upcoming season. He emphasized the scale and intensity of the new season, hinting at the challenges ahead for his character.

House of the Dragon season 2 is set to premiere on Monday 17th June on Sky and NOW in the UK.
