A six-week-old baby was bitten to death by the family’s husky. The parents have decided to donate their child’s organs.

A tragic event has shocked a family in Knoxville, Tennessee. As the New York Post reports, a six-week-old baby was attacked in his sleep by the family dog, a husky, and fatally injured.

The child’s parents told WVLT reporters that they loved and cared for their son every day. The two dogs, which had lived in their household for eight years, had not shown any aggressive behavior. They could not imagine that their child could be in danger, they continued.

While taking a nap in his bed, the little boy was unexpectedly attacked by the family dog. “You should be aware that it can be any dog at any time. Completely unprovoked and no matter what the history is,” the mother explained to reporters from “WVLT”.

As the New York Post reports, the husky is now in an animal shelter while the Knox County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the incident. It is still unclear whether legal action will be taken against the family or what will happen to the dog.

Despite their deep grief, the parents decided to donate their little boy’s organs. They hope that this decision will give other babies a second chance and ease their grief a little. “Saving other people’s lives has given us some peace in this painful grieving process,” Chloe Mansoor told WVLT.

At the same time, the young mother asked for prayers for the family: “Everyone loved him so much. I know that everyone is grieving right now, and we are grieving right now, and it will be a lifelong process to deal with it.”

A similar incident occurred in Italy in April. A 15-month-old toddler was attacked and bitten to death by two pit bulls. The mother tried to save the toddler from the dogs’ clutches, but was unsuccessful. She was injured in the process.
