It’s Pride Month. In June, people are drawing attention to the discrimination against the LGBT community around the world. A bar in Idaho wants to counteract this and is giving beer to straight men.
For years, there has been resistance to highlighting the unequal treatment of LGBT people in June – Pride Month. According to Pinknews, the Old State Saloon bar in Eagle, Idaho, has announced that it will celebrate June as “Heterosexuality Month” and is offering free beer to heterosexuals.
The bar, which has organized conspiracy theory events and a “Christian Singles Mingle” event in the past, is said to have publicized its action on Facebook. Mark Fitzpatrick, the bar’s owner, is said to have written there that “without straight men, none of us would be here.”
However, the promotion appears to only apply to men, with nothing being offered to women for free. However, it is reported that every Wednesday in June there will be a “Heterosexual Couples Day” where male/female couples will receive a 15 percent discount.
The “Pinknews” also reports that the “Old State Saloon” is offering other deals in addition to the beer promotion. On Saturdays, guests who bring their firearms receive a second coffee for free.
In parts of Germany, too, the so-called “Pride Month” is being fought against Pride Month, in which organizations, government representatives and public bodies raise their voices against discrimination.
The movement originated in this country among right-wing extremist influencers, including Shlomo Finkelstein, who does not use his real name in his videos.
In response, queer influencer Fabian Grischkat has secured the “Pride Month” brand and is campaigning against the misanthropic views of right-wing extremists.
