(Los Angeles) Inside Out 2, an animated film dedicated to the emotions of adolescence, continues to top the North American box office for its second week, according to Sunday projections from specialist firm Exhibitor Relations.
The highly anticipated sequel to the film from Pixar and Disney studios rakes in $100 million in revenue from Friday to Sunday, according to the same source.
In the film, the heroine, Riley, discovers new emotions with puberty: Anxiety, Boredom, Embarrassment and even Envy.
In second place, the action comedy Bad Boys 4, starring Will Smith and Martin Lawrence, took in almost $19 million.
The Bikeriders, starring Austin Butler, Jodie Comer and Tom Hardy, comes straight into third place for its release, with $10 million. In this film, a biker must choose between being loyal to his club or his wife.
The primates of Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, the latest installment in the science fiction saga, are fourth with 3.6 million.
Fifth, The Garfield Movie, Sony’s adaptation of the humorous adventures of the famous cat, also garnered 3.6 million.
