The buzz surrounding the IPL 2025 mega auction is growing as the event is set to take place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on November 24 and 25. This marks the second time that the IPL auction is being held outside of India, following last year’s event in Dubai.

Out of the 1574 players who registered for the IPL 2025 mega auction, the BCCI has selected 574 names to participate in the two-day event. Among the final list, there are 366 Indian players and 208 overseas cricketers, including three from associate nations. Additionally, there are 318 uncapped Indian players and 12 from outside India.

A total of 204 slots need to be filled by the 10 IPL teams during the auction, with 70 of those slots reserved for overseas players. Seven Indians, including Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul, and Shreyas Iyer, have been included in the two marquee sets. The highest base price at the auction is set at ₹2 crore, with 81 players opting for this bracket.

Mallika Sagar, who made history by conducting the IPL 2024 auction, will once again lead the event in IPL 2025. She replaced auctioneer Hugh Edmeades last year, breaking the long-standing tradition of male-dominated auctioneers.

To accommodate Indian audiences, the IPL 2025 mega auction will begin 10 minutes after the end of the day’s play in the India vs. Australia Test match in Perth. The auction is scheduled to start at 12:30 PM local time in Jeddah, which translates to 3 PM in Indian Standard Time.

Indian viewers can catch the live telecast of the IPL 2025 mega auction on Star Sports channels, starting from 3 PM IST. Additionally, live streaming of the auction will be available on the Jio Cinema app and website.

The Abady Al Johar Arena, also known as the Benchmark Arena, in Jeddah will be the venue for the IPL 2025 mega auction.
