(Montreal) Forward Mikyla Grant-Mentis has signed a one-season contract with the Montreal team of the Professional Women’s Hockey League.
The management of the Montreal team made the announcement in a press release Friday afternoon. As stipulated in the circuit’s regulations, the financial details of the agreement will not be revealed.
The 25-year-old from Brampton, Ontario, Grant-Mentis began the 2024 season with Ottawa, where she recorded three assists in six games.
After being released by the Ottawa team, Grant-Mentis signed a 10-day agreement with the Montreal team in mid-March.
In seven games with head coach Kori Cheverie’s team, Grant-Mentis scored two goals, both in the last game of the regular schedule against the Boston club. Then, in three playoff games, also against Boston, she obtained an assist.
In the official press release, general manager Danièle Sauvageau expressed her satisfaction with the performance of her attacker after her arrival in Montreal.
“Mikyla has provided us with valuable services since she joined our team last season. We ensure the return of a player who increases her level of play when the stakes are high. She was there in crucial moments at the end of the season and in the playoffs,” said Sauvageau.
