A man caused chaos at a Montana airport when he managed to get into the cockpit of an Alaska Airlines plane before being stopped by authorities. Justin Reed Seymour, 34, was arrested after he bypassed security at Missoula International Airport on Oct. 22. TSA officers tried to stop him, but Seymour made his way to Alaska Airlines Flight 697, a Boeing 737. Despite an airline employee’s efforts to intervene, Seymour pushed past and entered the plane. Once inside, he reportedly assaulted two flight attendants who tried to prevent him from entering the cockpit. One flight attendant was shoved into the cockpit door, while the other had their fingers crushed while trying to lock the door. Seymour was caught by law enforcement officers, claiming he needed to fly to Estonia because “bad people” had instructed him to take the plane. He admitted to officers that he thought he would be able to fly the aircraft. The 34-year-old faces felony charges of robbery and aggravated burglary and is currently in custody on a $500,000 bond at the Missoula County Detention Facility. The Federal Aviation Administration and Alaska Airlines have been contacted for comment on the incident.
