Road users in Montreal will have to be patient if they want to use the Métropolitaine, because major obstacles will result in the closure of entire lanes at night throughout the summer.
From June 17, segments of the A-40 (Métropolitaine) will be closed overnight until the fall in one direction or the other, announced the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility (MTMD) Wednesday.
The rejuvenation work will be carried out mainly in the Décarie interchange sector, but also the Laurentides interchange.
Detours will be made via Chemin de la Côte-de-Liesse, of which only one lane will be open heading east on the weekend.
The entrance to the A-40 East from the A-520 will also be closed for a weekend. Road users will need to use the next entrance.
Episodes of congestion are to be expected on the service road, even if the work mainly takes place at night or on weekends, the MTMD mentions.
Flaggers and police officers will ensure that traffic flows smoothly all summer long.
An intensive weekend of paving on the A-40 westbound will require its closure again later this year.
