A museum in Missouri made history by breaking a Guinness World Record for hosting the largest gathering of people wearing underwear on their heads. The City Museum in St. Louis, Missouri, decided to celebrate “314 Day” in a unique way by inviting 314 participants to wear underwear on their heads for one minute.

The museum, known for its quirky and artistic playground, already held several other Guinness World Records, such as the World’s Largest Pencil, Seesaw, Tennis Racket, and Tallest Man. Additionally, the museum boasts owning the World’s Largest Pair of Underwear, which hangs in Beatnik Bob’s Café.

The giant underwear on display at the museum was created in 1996 by St. Louis-based artists and has a 16-foot waistband. Although it’s not officially the world’s largest, that title is currently held by Cottonil in Egypt with an 82-foot waistband.

The museum was also hosting a traveling exhibit called the “Science of Guinness World Records,” which explored the science behind achieving these records. On March 14, the museum successfully achieved another Guinness World Record title by gathering 355 participants with underwear on their heads.

The City Museum, which opened in 1997, has become a popular destination for adventure-seekers with its indoor, outdoor, and underground playgrounds. The museum hosts various events throughout the year, including City Nights, July Fest, the International Craft Beer Festival, and Fright at the Museum.

As Memorial Day weekend approaches, the museum is offering free admission to all active and retired service members as a way to say thank you for their service. For more information about the museum and upcoming events, you can visit their website at citymuseum.org.
