(Montreal) A septuagenarian tragically lost her life on Thursday at Mont-Saint-Bruno national park, in Montérégie.
The woman died instantly when a tree fell on her around 12:45 p.m. Her death was noted on site by first responders upon their arrival.
The victim was hiking with family members, who were taken into care by emergency services.
The investigation was entrusted to the coroner’s office which will be responsible for shedding light on the circumstances of this terrible accident.
Longueuil police officers are on site providing assistance, but have already ruled out any suspicious cause.
