(Montreal) Not a day goes by without Danny Maciocia signing or extending contracts with the Montreal Alouettes. Tuesday, it was the turn of offensive lineman Jamar McGloster and defensive back Dionté Ruffin.
The two Americans are now under contract until the end of the 2025 season. Both players were starters for the club in the three playoff games leading to the Alouettes’ eighth Gray Cup.
McGloster, a 6-foot-7, 308-pound colossus, did well in the Gray Cup final by finding the gaps for running back William Stanback to score a touchdown. His blocks also helped quarterback Cody Fajardo rack up 290 yards and three touchdowns, completing 21 of 26 passes in a 28-24 win over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
The 28-year-old has been in uniform for 11 games this season for the Alouettes.
Ruffin (5-foot-10, 177 pounds) has 23 tackles and forced a fumble in 12 games this season. In three playoff games, he had seven tackles and knocked down one pass.
Aged 24, Ruffin played for the Calgary Stampeders before joining the Alouettes.
