Nashville Predators Part Ways with Assistant Coach Dan Hinote

The Nashville Predators have announced that they will not be renewing the contract of assistant coach Dan Hinote after four years with the team. Hinote’s contract is set to expire on June 30, and the Predators have confirmed that he will not be returning for the 2024-25 season.

Hinote joined the Predators as an assistant coach in September 2020, after being hired by general manager David Poile. During his time with the team, he was primarily responsible for the team’s penalty kill, which ranked 18th in the league at 78.9% over the course of his four-year tenure.

While Hinote’s departure marks the end of his time with the Predators, the team has indicated that their other two assistant coaches, Todd Richards and Derek MacKenzie, are expected to return for the upcoming season.

Known for his energetic and outgoing personality, Hinote was a popular figure both on the Nashville bench and in the locker room. Prior to his coaching career, he had a successful nine-season stint in the NHL, playing for the Colorado Avalanche and St. Louis Blues. Hinote was part of the Avalanche team that won the Stanley Cup in 2001, contributing 15 points in 76 games that season.
