Noah Hawley’s highly anticipated “Alien: Neverland” series has finally revealed intriguing plot details. The show is set on Earth 30 years before the events of Ridley Scott’s iconic 1979 film “Alien.” It delves into a conflict surrounding the rise of AI intelligence and the competition between developers and users.

Despite facing delays due to various reasons such as COVID, recasting, and strikes, the series is set to premiere on FX/Hulu in 2025. Currently being filmed in Thailand, Hawley has kept details about the show under wraps. However, in a recent podcast appearance, he shared that FX is extremely pleased with the show and is already considering a potential second season.

Interestingly, Ridley Scott is not creatively involved in the series, but Hawley has assured fans that his adaptation will be heavily influenced by Scott’s original “Alien” and James Cameron’s “Aliens,” rather than the more recent films “Prometheus” and “Alien: Covenant.”

The show is described as a tale of humanity caught between its primitive past and a threatening AI future, with both forces posing a danger to mankind. Set 70 years before the events of “Alien,” the series will explore the origins of the Weyland-Yutani Corporation, hinting at the creation of the Xenomorph as a bioweapon.

With production already completed, additional VFX work is scheduled to take place until July. The star-studded cast includes Sydney Chandler, Alex Lawther, Essie Davis, Adarsh Gourav, and Samuel Blenkin. Fans can expect a thrilling and immersive experience as they dive into the world of “Alien: Neverland.”
