Senator Josh Hawley, a Republican from Missouri, recently shared some troubling information during an interview on “Jesse Watters Primetime” regarding the assassination attempt against former President Trump at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania on July 13. According to Hawley, whistleblowers have come forward with claims about the Secret Service’s failures during the event.

The lead site agent responsible for overseeing security at the rally was reportedly inexperienced and incompetent, as per the information provided by the whistleblowers. It was alleged that the agent did not enforce standard security protocols, such as checking attendees’ IDs, and most of the agents present were from the Department of Homeland Security rather than the Secret Service.

Senator Hawley expressed concerns that some Secret Service agents are dissatisfied with the agency’s response to the shooting incident and fear that a similar situation could occur again if proper actions are not taken. He emphasized the importance of uncovering the truth and ensuring that necessary changes are implemented to prevent future security breaches.

Following the interview, Senator Hawley wrote a letter to the Secret Service acting director, Ronald L. Rowe, demanding an explanation for the lead site agent’s assignment to the rally and the lack of adherence to security protocols. He urged the agency to suspend the agent in question pending further investigation into the matter.

Fox News Digital reached out to the Secret Service for a response to Senator Hawley’s claims, but has not received a reply at the time of reporting. The seriousness of the allegations raised by the whistleblowers underscores the need for a thorough examination of the Secret Service’s handling of the assassination attempt and the implementation of corrective measures to prevent future security lapses. It is crucial for the agency to address these concerns promptly and transparently to restore public confidence in its ability to protect high-profile individuals effectively.
