(Calgary) The Calgary Flames traded forward Andrew Mangiapane to the Washington Capitals on Thursday for a second-round selection in the 2025 National Hockey League (NHL) draft.

Mangiapane scored 14 goals and totaled 40 points in 75 games this past season. He has 109 goals and 215 points in 417 career games.

This is the second major transaction for the Capitals in eight days. On June 19, they acquired Quebec forward Pierre-Luc Dubois from the Los Angeles Kings in exchange for goaltender Darcy Kuemper.
