Before finding success with her hits Mamy blue or Il est mort le soleil, Nicoletta was a DJ in a few clubs in Saint-Gerlain-des-Prés, as she mentioned during an interview with Gala in March 2022.
“Initially, I worked in the locker room. I found myself replacing the DJ who was going a different route. He taught me how to put a list and I did it. I was 20 years old and it was the explosion of music with the hippie movement”, she explained and added later: “I really had a fabulous youth. I took the microphones and sang with the musicians on stage. That’s how I got noticed by Eddie Barclay. I was very lucky to find him. He liked strong personalities”.
The one who has become an icon of French song has taken on a new challenge. In 2022, she joined the jury of the Eurovision France show, it’s you who decide! A role for which she did not hesitate to accept. “When I was asked to be part of the jury, there was no reason for me to refuse to do so. Even if I will listen carefully to the various winners, it is obvious that it is not the singer that we will select but the song. We must not forget that at the base it is a song contest”, she had declared last March.
Now, the 78-year-old star is having a good time in Saint-Tropez. She was spotted at a pétanque competition in Saint-Tropez on August 11. Check it out in photos in our slideshow.
