Noah Lyles, the face of U.S. men’s track and field, is gearing up for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris where he is the favorite to win the 200-meter race and possibly medal in the 100-meter as well. Despite not having won Olympic gold yet, Lyles has been dominating the world championships, earning six gold medals, including three last year in Budapest.
Before heading out to the Opening Ceremony on Team USA’s boat, Lyles painted the word “ICON” on his fingernails, showcasing his confidence and determination. He is aiming to make history by potentially winning four gold medals in various events, including the 4×400-meter relay.
In a recent interview with Fox News Digital, Lyles expressed his goal of becoming the greatest in his sport and achieving world records. His dream goal is to break the world record in the 200-meter event, currently held by Usain Bolt at 19.19. Lyles’ personal best is 19.31, making him the third-fastest ever and the current U.S. record holder. He also ran a personal-best 9.81 in the 100-meter event at a recent Diamond League meet.
Lyles is determined to showcase his skills and achieve greatness on the biggest stage at the Olympics. With his sights set on multiple gold medals and world records, he is ready to make a statement in Paris and solidify his place as an icon in the world of track and field.
