Ollie Gordon, a well-known football player for Oklahoma State, was arrested for driving under the influence and speeding on Sunday. The 20-year-old was pulled over on Interstate 35 near Moore, Oklahoma, after a patrol officer noticed his car swerving and going 82 mph. According to reports, the officer detected the smell of alcohol in the vehicle.
Gordon claimed he had not been drinking but had been around friends who were. He refused to take a field sobriety test but later admitted to having consumed one alcoholic beverage. Additionally, he had two open containers of alcohol in his car. After being taken to Cleveland County Jail, a breath test showed his blood alcohol content was 0.11, exceeding the legal limit for someone under 21.
As a standout player in college football, Gordon was named the Big 12 Player of the Year in 2023 and received All-American honors for the first time in his career. Despite his success, he found himself in trouble with the law due to this incident. Oklahoma State University acknowledged the situation but did not provide further comments.
