This Wednesday, May 31, the Director General of Old Age Insurance confirmed that the pension reform could indeed be implemented from September 1. In this context, repercussions will logically take place on old-age insurance. While the French are still hoping for a jump from the opposition or a democratic solution found in the National Assembly, it seems that the reform will go to its end and at this deadline now erected like a cleaver. The start of the new school year promises to be rich in changes for future retirees.

This Wednesday, May 31, took place the examination in the Committee of Social Affairs at the Assembly of the bill (PPL) of the Liot group. Targeted ? A desire to remove the increase in the legal retirement age, planned from 62 to 64 years. In a very tense climate, this study of the text gave a foretaste of the possible dissensions that will take place during the session on June 8th. On this date, it is thus expected that the Liot group will use its parliamentary niche to propose this law aimed at repealing the increase in the retirement age.

During this first examination in committee, the majority and the opposition were very strongly opposed on many issues and showed that the divide was still major on this issue. The deputy of La France Insoumise has, therefore, as reported by our colleagues from Les Echos, denounced the “mafia drift of macronie”. The parliamentarians thus approved by 38 votes against 34 the deletion of the first article of the bill. The majority was able to count on the Republican deputies to carry out this favorable balance.

With the censorship of the first article of the bill, the opposition immediately responded by filing hundreds of sub-amendments on article 2 of the PPL in order to prevent the examination of the whole bill. . At the same time, the large organizations are preparing for its implementation with, according to the director general, Renaud Villard, no “calendar alert”.

With CNEWS, he then spoke about the publication of the decrees, which should be ready in time. According to him, “pensions will be calculated according to the new rules” from July. This leaves a small head start between now and the hectic start of the school year in September.

The implementation of this pension reform, however, looks like an obstacle course for certain organizations such as the CNAV. It is therefore essential for it to train its agents in the new methods, but also to succeed in adapting its IT infrastructure without creating shortcomings for future retirees.

A survey by the weekly Politis reveals that the suffering at work of old-age insurance employees is a reality. If he considers that he does not “underestimate the cognitive fatigue of the teams”, Renaud Villard mentioned the hiring of 500 people to deal with these modifications, some of whom have already been in post since this winter.
