TALLMADGE (OH) — A granite company explosion in Portage County left one person dead and injured.
According to the Tallmadge Fire Department, firefighters were called to Korkan granite at 4561 Crystal Parkway around 8:30 a.m. after receiving a report about an explosion.
Crews arrived to find no fire, but evidence of an explosion in a storage area near vehicles, and other equipment.
One man was shot to death. A woman with severe injuries was admitted to the hospital. According to the department, another woman was treated on the spot and released.
Other nearby vehicles were also damaged.
The cause of the explosion is still unknown.
For investigation purposes, officers are still on the scene.
