(Ottawa) The Ottawa Senators hired Nolan Baumgartner and Mike Yeo as assistant coaches on head coach Travis Green’s staff on Tuesday, while Daniel Alfredsson will return behind the team’s bench Ontario.

The Senators also revealed their coaching staff on Tuesday, confirming the return of assistant Ben Sexton, goaltending instructor Justin Peters and video coach Mike King.

Baumgartner, 48, was an assistant coach with the Manitoba Moose of the American Hockey League for the past two seasons.

He was also Green’s assistant when he led the Vancouver Canucks between 2017 and 2021.

Yeo, who is 50, has been a two-time head coach in the NHL. He notably led the Minnesota Wild from 2011-12 until the start of the 2016 season, and was an assistant with the Canucks during the last two campaigns.

Alfredsson, 51, joined Jacques Martin’s staff as an assistant coach when he was named interim head coach last December.

The Swede, who was elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame, is the leading scorer in Senators history with 1,157 points.

Green was named head coach of the Senators on May 7, and Martin remained with the organization as an advisor.
