(Rome) Jannik Sinner, the highest ranked player in the world, will play singles and doubles at the Paris Olympics, the Italian Tennis Federation said on Friday.

These will be the first Summer Games of Sinner’s career, who climbed to the top of the men’s rankings this week following his semifinal run at the French Open. The 22-year-old lost to Carlos Alcaraz, the eventual champion.

Sinner won the Australian Open in January to capture his first career major title. He is 33-3 in 2024, with three titles.

Sinner will team up in doubles with Lorenzo Musetti, the federation said.

Jasmine Paolini, who lost in the final of the Roland-Garros tournament last weekend, will also wear the colors of Italy.

The Olympic tennis matches will begin on July 27. The Wimbledon tournament will be held during the first two weeks of July.
