According to the ADAC, anyone traveling on the motorways at the end of the week will have to be prepared for traffic jams. The end of the Pentecost holidays and Corpus Christi are to blame for this.
From Wednesday (May 29th) the German motorways could become crowded. During this time, many short vacationers are likely to be on the road for Corpus Christi on Thursday, as well as those returning from the Pentecost holidays at the weekend, as the ADAC announced on Monday (May 27th).
There is a risk of traffic jams on routes heading north in the south, especially on Saturday. When many short vacationers go home on Sunday afternoon, highways in southern Germany are likely to be particularly affected, as are highways in metropolitan areas. The same applies to Austria and Switzerland, where Corpus Christi is a public holiday.
Therefore, there was also a risk of traffic jams on typical travel routes such as the Brenner motorway and the Gotthard route. There may be waiting times at the Bavarian border crossings of Suben on the A3, Walserberg on the A8 and Kiefersfelden on the A93.
