Primark Launches Inclusive Fashion Line in Support of LGBTQI+ Charities

As Pride celebrations begin, Primark has unveiled a new campaign centered around the message “Be Authentic, Be Proud, Be You.” The campaign aims to showcase self-expression and diversity, with a special focus on supporting the LGBTQI+ community. With a pledge of £150,000 to various local charities in Europe and the US, Primark is committed to creating a more inclusive future for all.

What charities will benefit from Primark’s support?

Primark will donate £30,000 to The Proud Trust, a UK-based charity empowering young LGBTQI+ individuals. Additionally, the retailer will contribute £100,000 to ILGA World, an international organization advocating for equity and equality within the community. This marks the sixth year of Primark’s partnership with ILGA World, bringing their total contribution to over £1 million since 2018.

What products are included in the new collection?

The new collection features clothing for adults and kids, along with accessories like hats, socks, and bags. Highlights include a rainbow crochet shirt and vest set, music-inspired t-shirts, and gender-neutral base wear made from sustainable materials. Prices start at £4, making the range accessible and affordable to a wide audience.

How is Primark engaging with the LGBTQI+ community?

Primark’s Head of Diversity & Inclusion, Charlie Magadah-Williams, emphasizes the importance of authenticity and pride in the campaign. The retailer worked closely with its LGBTQI+ colleague network to ensure representation and support in developing the range. Primark colleagues will participate in Pride events across 18 cities, with customer-facing celebrations in select stores. The collection will be available in all Primark stores starting from June 1st.
