(London) Briton Jack Draper, 31st in the world, created a sensation Thursday in the round of 16 of the London grass tournament at Queen’s by beating Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz, world No.2 and defending champion, 7-6 (7/ 3), 6-3, Thursday.
After a first set won in a tiebreak, Draper, winner last week of the first tournament of his career on the Stuttgart lawn, made the decisive break in the sixth game in the second set, to break away 5-2 and finally beat the defending champion at Wimbledon in two sets.
