(Saint-Basile-Le-Grand) A 21-year-old man drowned Saturday morning in a residential swimming pool in Saint-Basile-le-Grand, in Montérégie.
According to the Richelieu–Saint-Laurent Intermunicipal Police Authority, emergency services were contacted around 10:15 a.m. to report a possible drowning.
On site, emergency services carried out resuscitation maneuvers on a 21-year-old young man who was near the swimming pool of this residence on rue de la Montagne. The victim was then evacuated to a hospital where doctors pronounced him dead.
Investigators must go to the scene of the incident, said the police, in order to clarify the circumstances of the tragedy.
