The television anime adaptation of Pom’s web manga “Senpai Is an Otokonoko” has unveiled more details, including additional cast members, theme songs, and a full promotional video. The anime, set to premiere on July 4th, will feature the opening theme song “Wagamama” and the ending theme song “Are ga Koi Datta no kana feat. Nishina” by artist Kujira.

Newly announced cast members include Mai Nakahara as Makoto’s mother Mika Hanaoka and Kaori Maeda as Ryūji’s younger sister Konatsu Taiga. The main cast will include Shūichirō Umeda as Makoto Hanaoka, Akira Sekine as Saki Aoi, and Yūma Uchida as Ryūji Taiga. The anime is directed by Shinsuke Yanagi and features character design by Shōto Shinkai.

The story follows high school student Saki, who confesses her feelings to Makoto, only to discover his secret. Undeterred, Saki seeks advice from Ryūji, Makoto’s childhood friend, leading to a love triangle as feelings begin to emerge. The manga, originally launched in 2019, has gained popularity and will soon see its ninth compiled volume released.

Fans can look forward to the premiere of “Senpai Is an Otokonoko” on July 4th, with Crunchyroll set to stream the anime. The advance screening of the first three episodes was recently held in Tokyo, building anticipation for the series.
