Barbecues, the beach, good times with family or friends… Summer is now on. It’s vacation and travel season. However, the Covid-19 did not take a vacation. On the contrary, it is particularly active and its spread within France is worrying.
The incidence rate is indeed particularly alarming. Its level is at its highest since April 2022. It stands at 1,342.1 on July 8, an increase of 22.8% compared to the last seven days.
Faced with this epidemic rebound, the Minister of Health and Prevention François Braun defended on July 11, 2022 the government bill to fight against Covid-19. As a reminder, this text mainly provides for the continuation of the collection of health data on tests and vaccination as well as a possible health pass at the borders, notes 20 Minutes.
In addition to this, this text also comes to put an end to “the extinction of the legal regime of the state of health emergency” and of the “health and vaccination pass in the daily life of the French”.
“The French must find the right reflexes, the virus will continue to circulate in waves. I solemnly appeal to everyone’s good citizenship. Wearing a mask in crowded places and on public transport must become the norm again.”, declared the minister before the National Assembly, as reported by Le Figaro.
Regarding vaccination, François Braun insisted: “No, vaccines do not prevent contamination but, 1,000 times yes, vaccines prevent contracting serious forms, (…) vaccines save lives.”
However, even today, some departments have a vaccination rate below the national average. Here are which ones.
