A major police operation freed around ten women from the Motel Saint-Jacques, an establishment where several vulnerable people were exploited, on June 20.
The women were taken care of by health network workers after this intervention by the Montreal City Police Service (SPVM) in the motel located in the Côte-des-Neiges–Notre-Dame-de district. -Thanks, Noovo Info reported.
This operation is one of the largest in the recent history of the SPVM, according to Noovo Info, which specifies that around sixty agents were deployed on the scene, in addition to responders and social workers from the health network. and the Assistance Center for Victims of Crime (CAVAC).
When they arrived on the scene, officers from the Tactical Intervention Group found four unconscious and intoxicated people in an apartment, as well as around ten women between 18 and 35 years old, some of them having been sexually exploited, ‘other showing a serious state of health. They were all supported by the CAVAC and the CIUSSS.
The motel owner and an employee were arrested and face pimping and drug charges. The Motel Saint-Jacques remains under the supervision of the SPVM until further notice.
