Stephanie was on holiday with her family in Spain. Shortly before her return flight she was shocked: she urgently needed brain surgery.

Stephanie (42), her four children and her partner recently went on holiday to Spain. But their whole life changed there. They were just about to make their way to the airport – because it was time to return home. But at around 1 a.m. Stephanie, who comes from Wales, felt unwell, as “walesonline.co.uk” reports.

Stephanie was taken to hospital. Tests showed that the 42-year-old had a ruptured aneurysm. Brain surgery was therefore necessary. Her daughter Aimee wrote this on “gofundme.com”. It goes on to say that the woman was operated on on July 10th and that the operation went well. However, she is still in a very critical condition in the intensive care unit.

According to the Munich Clinic, aneurysms are sack- or berry-shaped arterial bulges. These can have different sizes. They are particularly dangerous if they are located in the main artery or in the brain arteries.

Now the family is facing some costs. Aimee is describing the situation on “gofundme.de” and describes her mother as “the most selfless person in the whole world”. The daughter wants to “raise as much money as possible to ease the financial pressure on my family so that a family member can stay with my mother.” So far (as of June 15th) over £18,871 (around €22,300) has been raised.

Many Americans look longingly towards Europe. Historical architecture, sophisticated metropolises and good healthcare are the most common examples. But Europeans’ love of travel also causes envy.

A father is travelling with his son to the 2024 European Championships in Germany. In a curious email, the Scot informs his child’s school – and tells them when they can expect his return.
