The Canadian dollar was trading at 72.62 US cents, compared to 72.65 US cents on Monday.
On the New York Mercantile Exchange, the price of crude oil rose one cent to US$77.75 per barrel and natural gas rose 15 cents to US$3.06 per million BTUs.
Gold was up US$2.10 at US$2,329.10 an ounce and copper was down seven cents at US$4.48 a pound.
