(Calgary) A Canadian oil company has reported being the victim of a cybersecurity incident.
Calgary-based Suncor Energy says it has already notified the proper authorities and is working with third-party experts to investigate and resolve the situation.
A company statement says it was not made aware of any customer, supplier or employee data that was compromised or misused as a result of the breach.
The company also warns that some transactions with customers and suppliers could be affected, while it is still working to resolve the issue.
Last Friday, Suncor recorded a decline of 1.08% on the TSX. The stock fell 40 cents to $37.51 on 6.5 million shares.
