This Monday Spain has requested the European Commission the access to the so-called european programme of mitigation of the risks of unemployment, known as SURE, by more than 20,000 million euros to fund programs such as the temporary layoff of employment (ERTE):
What is the SURE?
The Instrument of Temporal Support to Mitigate the Risks of Unemployment in an Emergency (SURE, for its acronym in English) is a fund driven into the heart of the European Commission this past spring to mitigate the impact of the pandemic in the employment of the Old Continent. In addition to the SURE, Brussels has also launched other measures to provide financial support to the european countries, such as a new line of credit from the European Stability Mechanism and new guarantees of the European Investment Bank (EIB).
