(Los Angeles) American swimmer Kensey McMahon, world medalist, has been suspended for four years for doping, the American anti-doping agency (USADA) announced on Tuesday.
McMahon (24), bronze medalist in the 1500m at the 2022 World Championships in Melbourne (Australia), tested positive for vadadustat, a drug whose molecule is classified by anti-doping in the category of peptide hormones, such as EPO.
McMahon tested positive on July 1, 2023, during the United States Championships where she took 3rd place in the 1500m freestyle. His four-year suspension begins July 7, 2023.
America’s leading swimmers are expected June 15-23 in Indianapolis for the Olympic trials before the Paris Games (July 26-August 11).
