Good news to start 2023. Since the introduction of the withholding tax, millions of French people benefit from a transfer from the tax authorities in the middle of January. This is a deposit paid to taxpayers benefiting from recurring tax credits and reductions: home-based employee, childcare by a childminder, real estate scheme… In a press release, the Ministry of the Economy specifies that this advance will be paid to 9 million households for a total amount of 5.6 billion euros, or 624 euros on average.
“The payment (…) notably facilitates home employment but also donations or accommodation in Ehpad by anticipating the collection of the associated tax advantage”, welcome the ministers Bruno Le Maire and Gabriel Attal in this declaration. commune, adding that it “will also contribute to preserving the purchasing power of the French people concerned”. If you can benefit from it, how much will you get?
The Ministry of the Economy specifies that this deposit corresponds to 60% of the total amount of tax reductions and credits declared last spring, “for expenses incurred in 2021”, unless the taxpayer has reduced this amount between the months September and December 2022. Please note, Bercy reminds: “Depending on the declaration, next spring, of income and expenses incurred in 2022, the final amount of tax reductions and credits to which the taxpayer is entitled will be calculated and will subject to an adjustment in the summer of 2023 taking into account the amount of the advance paid in January 2023”.
This down payment for tax reductions and credits will be paid on January 16 to the bank accounts of beneficiary households, under the heading “ADVANCE CREDIMPOT”. For the 220,000 taxpayers who have not provided their bank details to the tax authorities, the advance will be given in the form of a check letter.
