Taylor Swift was in London for her “Eras Tour” and made a surprise appearance with none other than Prince William and his two oldest kids, Prince George and Princess Charlotte. After performing at Wembley Stadium, a picture was posted on the official Instagram account of the Prince and Princess of Wales showing Taylor Swift taking a selfie with the royal family backstage.
The caption read: “Thank you @taylorswift for a great evening!” and Swift also shared her own post on Instagram, wishing Prince William a happy 42nd birthday. It seems like the royal family had a blast attending Swift’s concert along with 90,000 other fans.
Interestingly, this wasn’t the first time Prince William had met Taylor Swift. Back in 2013, they crossed paths at a charity event and even sang together with Bon Jovi. William shared this story on a recent episode of “Time to Walk,” revealing how Swift convinced him to join her on stage.
Unfortunately, Kate Middleton couldn’t make it to the concert as she is undergoing chemotherapy treatment for cancer. However, the royal family made sure to give Taylor Swift a warm welcome to the UK by having the Military band play her hit song “Shake It Off” during the Changing of the Guard ceremony at Buckingham Palace.
It’s heartwarming to see the royal family enjoying a night out at a Taylor Swift concert and sharing some fun moments with the pop star. Hopefully, this won’t be the last time we see such delightful interactions between celebrities and royalty.
