Police cordoned off a school in Lübeck and searched the building. The police are calling it a threatening situation.

Due to a possible threat situation, the police have surrounded a school center in Lübeck. Officers searched the Emil Possehl School early Tuesday afternoon, a police spokesman said. He did not comment on the nature of the threat. The police have set up a contact point for parents and students. Concerned parents and schoolmates can report to the Hansehalle near the school.

The “Lübecker Nachrichten” reported that an evacuation of teachers and students was being prepared. The headmaster had communicated a code word agreed upon with the police. Teachers and students were asked via an announcement to stay in the classrooms, lock them from the inside and keep calm, the report said. The police did not want to confirm this information at this time.
