Vice President Kamala Harris recently criticized former President Trump at a rally in Erie, Pennsylvania, drawing connections between his agenda and that of the conservative Project 2025 initiative. The crowd at the rally responded with chants of “lock him up,” reminiscent of the 2016 White House race.

During the rally, Harris played a mashup of clips in which Trump warned of dangers from “the enemy within,” referring to those who do not support him or bend to his will as enemies of the country. She highlighted Trump’s use of military force against groups like journalists, election officials, and judges, suggesting that voting for Trump would be a “huge risk for America.”

In response to Harris’ comments, the Trump campaign rejected her warnings, accusing the Harris-Biden administration of weaponizing the justice system against political rivals. The Pennsylvania Team Trump spokesman, Kush Desai, criticized Harris for crying about abuse of power, stating that she should look in the mirror.

Harris also addressed the Supreme Court’s ruling in Trump’s favor regarding presidential immunity, which led to chants of “lock him up” from the crowd. She urged the audience to make their voices heard at the ballot box and emphasized the importance of upholding the Constitution.

Before the rally, Harris visited a local business and was welcomed by Democratic officials, including Mayor Joe Schember and State Rep. Ryan Bizzarro. Senator John Fetterman gave a warm-up speech, and Harris was introduced by Karen Kalivoda, a retired civil servant and Erie native.

On the other end of the Commonwealth, Trump participated in a town hall hosted by South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem near King of Prussia. The events highlighted the ongoing political divide in Pennsylvania leading up to the election.

Overall, the rally in Erie showcased the contrasting views between the Democratic and Republican candidates, with Harris emphasizing the threat posed by Trump’s agenda and Trump’s campaign dismissing her criticisms. The upcoming election will determine the direction of the country and how issues like presidential immunity and the use of military force will be addressed in the future.
