Some 130 workers at the Quincaillerie Richelieu warehouse in Montreal have launched a general and indefinite strike.

These workers are assigned to preparing orders; These therefore include order clerks, warehouse clerks, drivers and others. They are members of a local section of the Teamsters union, which is affiliated with the FTQ.

The collective agreement expired at the end of December 2023 and had a duration of five years.

Negotiations have not ended, but no other meeting date is currently planned between the parties. The Teamsters union claims to be available at any time to resume negotiations.

The parties have not yet requested conciliation from the Ministry of Labor.

Salary is the main point in dispute.

Asked to comment, the employer had not yet reacted at the time of writing.
