The fall 2023 season of the Agora will take place under the sign of the plurality of creation in Quebec contemporary dance.
For the opening show at the start of the school year, choreographer Catherine Gaudet joins forces with director Brigitte Haentjens in Mains moites, a creation starring Francis Ducharme. The actor and dancer will embody the myth of the tragic hero.
Will follow in October Project Pinocchio, the new piece for all audiences by Hélène Balckburn, for seven performers, and which celebrates the 35th anniversary of her company, Cas public. Two solos, L’appel des braises and Anatomy of a motor, respectively conceived by Charles-Alexis Desgagnés (2018 Revolution finalist) and Alexandre Morin, are also on the program in October. These two artists have never before presented works at the Agora.
In November, Katia-Marie Germain and the duo composed of Priscilla Guy and Émilie Morin will offer two other group pieces to close the season: Mascarades and Peau.
In total, six audacious and stimulating contemporary dance performances will take place at Espace Wilder next fall.
