A holidaymaker was pelted with stones and chased on the motorway in Italy. The 66-year-old suspects this is a scam.

An Austrian vacationer experienced an unpleasant surprise on his trip to Italy. As “Heute.at” reports, the man, who was driving his caravan on the highway, was pelted with stones.

The vehicle from which the stones were thrown then pursued the caravan. The incident occurred on the way from the holiday resort of Jesolo to the tourist city of Venice.

The victim, a 66-year-old man, reported that he did not stop despite the attack and the stalking. The attackers finally gave up and let him drive on. However, Peter suspects that the stone throwers were trying to cheat.

“There were probably three people standing in front of the car and throwing things at me. They wanted me to stop so they could claim that I had hit their car and demand money from me,” he described the incident to “Heute.at”.

When Peter later inspected his vehicle at a rest stop, he discovered damage to the right turn signal, which had been caused by a stone several centimeters in diameter. However, this incident did not stop him from continuing his journey to Venice.

An Austrian couple also had an unpleasant experience on an Italian motorway. They were lured into a tourist trap using the “mirror trick”. This cost the couple over 500 euros.

At the same time, complaints about bill collectors who, on behalf of Italian motorway operators, demand high toll fees from German drivers who allegedly have unpaid amounts are increasing significantly at the ADAC.

What is particularly annoying for drivers is that the debt collection companies often have an advantage in this situation and the drivers are in a weaker position.

When a woman from Austria wanted to make a reservation for a funeral feast in a restaurant, she could hardly believe her ears: the innkeeper required a minimum spend of 500 euros. The woman vents her anger about this.
