The Ukrainian military has released drone footage taken at the end of May in Vovchansk, in the Kharkiv region of northeastern Ukraine.
It shows the destruction in this city that the Russian army is trying to conquer and which is located three kilometers from the border.
The Kharkiv region is targeted almost daily by Russian forces who launched a new ground offensive in this sector on May 10.
Ukraine, which has sent valuable reinforcements to the area, assured at the end of May that this Russian attack had been “stopped”. The fighting is currently taking place mainly in the east.
The United States gave Ukraine the green light last week to use, under certain conditions, American weapons to strike Russian territory, in particular with the aim of repelling the assault on the Kharkiv region.
Eight people were injured in Russian shelling overnight from Monday to Tuesday in the Kharkiv and Dnipropetrovsk regions, according to Ukrainian authorities.
On Monday, Russia launched at least ten drone attacks from the Belgorod region on the border.
The governor of this region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, reported drone attacks from Ukraine having killed a motorist and injured another in villages on the border.
Furthermore, Ukrainian artillery fire on the town of Gorlivka, in the Donetsk region controlled by Russian forces, killed a woman, according to the regional manager installed by Moscow, Denis Pushilin.
Three women were also injured in Ukrainian attacks on the town of Donetsk and the neighboring town of Makiivka, he added.
