An eyewitness at a rally attended by former President Trump in Pennsylvania shared that he and others spotted a man armed with a rifle crawling onto a roof just before shots were fired, in what appeared to be an assassination attempt on Saturday evening. The witness recounted how they noticed the gunman climbing up a nearby building’s roof while Trump was speaking at the event. Despite their efforts to alert the police and Secret Service about the armed individual, the authorities seemed unaware of the situation.

The witness described the gunman wearing tan clothing and noted that they could see him with a rifle, although the exact type was unclear due to the distance. They continued to point out the gunman on the roof, even as shots were fired moments later. The witness claimed that the Secret Service agents eventually took down the shooter after the initial shots were fired.

Questions were raised about why Trump was not immediately removed from the stage once the gunman was spotted and why the Secret Service did not have a presence on all nearby roofs. Following the incident, Trump shared a statement on Truth Social, mentioning that he could feel the impact of the bullet.

The FBI identified the shooter as Thomas Matthew Crooks, a 20-year-old from Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, a suburb of Pittsburgh located near the rally venue. Unfortunately, one rally attendee lost his life, and two others were critically injured in the incident.

This shocking event highlights the importance of security measures at public gatherings and the swift response required in such dangerous situations. It also raises concerns about the effectiveness of communication between event attendees and security personnel, emphasizing the need for improved coordination and vigilance to prevent similar incidents in the future.
