A Bahamas judge has decided to cancel Lindsay Shiver’s bail. Shiver is accused of planning to hire a hitman to kill her former husband, ex-NFL player Robert Shiver, with the help of her alleged Bahamian lover. Justice Cheryl Grant-Thompson reportedly revoked bail for Lindsay Shiver, 37, and Terrance Bethel, 30, due to their recent media coverage surrounding the case, according to the Caribbean outlet Loop News.

Grant-Thompson criticized Lindsay’s recent interview on “Good Morning America,” calling it a “blatant disregard for the court’s leniency and indulgence.” Lindsay Shiver is now back in prison in the Bahamas. Owen Wells, Shiver’s attorney based in Nassau, confirmed that he could not provide further comments due to ongoing court proceedings.

Shiver, along with her lover Bethel and the alleged hitman Faron Newbold Jr., were arrested in the Bahamas in July 2023. They pleaded not guilty to all charges. The couple’s marriage had been rocky, as evidenced by divorce filings, with accusations of infidelity and domestic violence from both parties.

In December of last year, Grant-Thompson had released Lindsay on $100,000 bail with the condition she could travel back to the United States under certain restrictions, which she apparently violated with her TV interview. The judge expressed her disapproval of this breach in a filing, stating that it could potentially impact the upcoming trial.

Shiver’s attorneys argued that she did not violate her bail conditions, but the judge disagreed. Grant-Thompson emphasized that her decision to revoke bail was to ensure Shiver’s safety after a previous incident where a different boyfriend had tried to harm her in Alabama.

Bodycam footage revealed that Lindsay had called 911 on Robert after he prevented her from boarding their private jet to meet her lover in the Bahamas. She allegedly sent a message instructing, “Kill him,” to the hitman, leading to her arrest five days later.

Robert Shiver expressed gratitude for still being alive during a court appearance in December 2023. The case continues to unfold, with new details emerging as the investigation progresses. The complexity of the situation highlights the serious implications of domestic disputes and the lengths some individuals may go to seek revenge or resolve conflicts.

In such cases, it is essential for legal authorities to ensure the safety of all parties involved and uphold the principles of justice. The story of Lindsay and Robert Shiver serves as a cautionary tale of the dangers of unresolved conflicts and the importance of seeking peaceful resolutions to marital disputes.
