President Biden is bolstering his campaign funds with the support of the Clintons. The President’s 2024 re-election campaign recently announced that Biden raised $8.1 million at a fundraiser in McLean, Virginia, where he was joined by former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. The event was hosted at the home of former Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe, a close ally of the Clintons. The fundraiser also saw the presence of renowned author John Grisham.

During the fundraiser, President Biden criticized former President Trump, referring to him as a “convicted felon” due to his 34 felony convictions in the recent criminal trial. Biden emphasized that “democracy is on the ballot this year.” This event followed a record-breaking fundraising effort in Los Angeles, where Biden collected over $30 million with the support of former President Obama, George Clooney, Julia Roberts, and Jimmy Kimmel.

In total, the fundraisers in Virginia, California, and Los Angeles brought in over $40 million for the Biden campaign. While President Biden currently leads in fundraising, former President Trump is working to narrow the gap. Trump’s campaign recently announced a significant fundraising haul of $141 million in May, partly attributed to his guilty verdicts in the criminal trial. The Biden campaign and the DNC have not disclosed their June fundraising numbers yet.

Additionally, Trump’s team highlighted that they raised approximately $27.5 million during a fundraising tour in California and Nevada. The competition between the two campaigns intensifies as they race to secure the necessary funds for the upcoming election.
