Founded by Johnson and Dany Garcia, Seven Bucks Productions will now have a first look deal with The Walt Disney Company to develop both theatrical releases and streaming films.
This multi-year agreement with Disney marks a significant collaboration across all divisions of the company. It opens up the possibility of projects that could feature Johnson in leading roles. Previously, Seven Bucks Productions and Disney worked together on projects like “Jungle Cruise” and “Behind the Attraction” for Disney+.
Fans can also look forward to Johnson reprising his role as the demigod Maui in “Moana 2,” set for release in November. The original film was a massive success, with the latest trailer gaining 178 million views in just 24 hours, setting a new record for Disney animation trailers.
